Product Designer (Mobile & Social)
What you'll do
You'll shape how accountability actually feels. Crewmates isn't a dashboard tool — it's a social product where a well-timed nudge, a perfectly placed streak counter, or the right celebration animation is the difference between someone showing up tomorrow or quietly dropping off. You'll own the end-to-end design of features across the block system — from habit trackers to shared albums to wrapped recaps — with a mobile-first mindset and a deep sensitivity to group dynamics. You'll design for progressive disclosure (simple on the surface, powerful underneath) and work closely with engineering to make sure the emotional intent of every feature survives implementation.
What we're looking for
- A portfolio that shows strong mobile product design — not just pretty screens, but thoughtful flows, edge-case awareness, and real shipping experience
- Experience designing social or community-driven products where the interaction model goes beyond single-player CRUD
- Fluency in Figma and comfort working in a fast-moving environment where you're designing, prototyping, and iterating in the same week
- Sensitivity to the emotional dimension of design — you think about how a feature makes someone feel, not just what it lets them do
- Bonus: experience with gamification mechanics (streaks, progress systems, rewards) or products where retention is driven by social dynamics rather than content
Compensation
Competitive compensation with equity — you'll shape the product from day one, and your package reflects that. Salaried role, open to discussion based on your experience and portfolio.
About Crewmates
Crewmates is a social accountability app for small groups pursuing shared goals. We believe goals are easier to pursue and harder to abandon when other people are watching, participating, and caring alongside you. Think Strava, but for all of life's goals — not just running. We're a small, early-stage team building something that sits at the intersection of productivity and social software, and we're looking for people who care about both the engineering and the human side of what we're making.
